Saint Bernadette

Linville, North Carolina

This metal building Church circa 1980 has received an addition that provided for a new and larger Sanctuary. It also underwent a major interior renovation. The Church is situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Pastor wished to evoke the tradition of wooden architecture familiar to that locale. The realities of fundraising dictated keeping a large window behind the altar. Wood trusses and grooved ceilings in the Nave are non-structural and are a step down from the curving, coffered ceiling in the new Sanctuary. Everything shown is entirely new except for several fine statues and a baptismal font that were acquired, restored and placed in the Church.
